Sawdust Theatre Presents: "Recipe for Disaster" or "Camilla's Culinary Quandary"

Join us at the Sawdust Theatre for an evening of intrigue, humor, and mayhem!

"Recipe for Disaster" or "Camilla’s Culinary Quandary" is a lighthearted play loosely inspired by local philanthropist Camilla Reitman and her family. Mrs. Reitman is fondly remembered in Coquille for her generosity, including funding scholarships for Coquille High School students and contributing to the construction of the new theater, among other endeavors.

The devious villain Leopold Lecher arrives in Coquelle City, determined to uncover the long-lost Sixes gold, rumored to be hidden in the basement of the Lorenz Dry Goods Store. Along the way, he becomes infatuated with the charming Camilla. Will the dashing young dentist thwart Lecher’s sinister plot at the Coquelle City Cotillion Ball, or will chaos reign? Audiences can look forward to lavish performances, featuring dancers in dazzling cancan outfits, and a variety of other costumes tailored to each lively vaudeville act.

The play was written by Cindy Robnett and Edna Cotner for the Sawdust Theatre and is directed by Nancy Wilson, with Kendall Roberts as Assistant Director. The vibrant musical numbers are under the direction of Stephanie Kreutzer, assisted by Chloe Stevenson.
