On July 12 at 8AM, the South Slough Reserve is teaming up with the Oregon Department of Fish & Wildlife (ODFW) for a fun, family-friendly clamming workshop. Knowledgeable instructors will identify a variety of edible species, proper digging techniques, and how to prepare and cook clams.
This workshop is free, but preregistration is required. Maximum class size is 25. Everyone aged 12 and older will need to purchase an Oregon shellfish license in advance. Old clothes and boots are a must!
Meet in the parking lot by the ODFW office in Charleston, which is near the end of Boat Basin Road.
