50-Year Anniversary of Bandon HS Destroyed by Arson Fire

On the night of January 23,1974, an arson fire destroyed Bandon High School.

The Museum will mark the fiftieth anniversary of that fire with a free program at the museum Saturday, February 10th at 2:00pm Mary Schamehorn and Jim Proehl will narrate.

Mary was among the first on the scene when the fire alarm sounded, took photos of the fire, and covered the story of the fire, the arson investigation and the process of getting Bandon High's students back to school. Her photography will illustrate the program.
